Some time ago while searching the federal bands, I came across 163.0875 which sounded like an analog repeated channel. After some time listening, it seemed to be DFW National Cemetery operations. After a quick save to my 996P2, I locked out the frequency as it was certainly routine in nature and not something I was interested in. I recently "unavoided" all channels for reprogramming. Now, this frequency is still active however; I am hearing the distinct "buzzsaw" sound which I recalled as a digital signal on an analog scanner. It may now be ENC although it does not display anywhere and and is not ignored as a ENC frequency on the 996 nor my SDS100. I saw on a NTIA list that 163.0875 and 171.0125 were VA Dallas P25 channels and I wondering if anyone hears any traffic differently than I do. TIA

163.0875 DPL 732 was the analog repeater output channel about 20 years ago.
That was just before the federal LMR narrowbanding and refarming deadline.
They probably now have a P25 repeater with 163.0875 input and 171.0125 output.
Did you get a NAC or does it not decode at all? It might be some other digital mode.

No - there is no NAC displayed and it does not decode although the signal is very strong in Flower Mound.

Some of the VHA has gone DMR vs P25

The Cem Reps, (the employees that work the chapels I think have
xpr handhelds and are on a diff. freq? it,s large 1100 acres , 7 chapels
about 100 plus employees , abt 7000 burials a year, abt 220,000 internments
so alot going on communication is really important anywhere from 30
to 40 burials a day ...or more... (Calverton National)
