I confirm what WA1CRZ translated. However, it almost sounds like it cut into the middle of the transmission and that there might have been something before the 2 that's not on the recording.

Odd, never heard any CW on a WHCA Channel.

Depending on the age and quality of the receiver, don't rule out the possibility of an image. I have an old Radio Shack scanner that gets quite a few 2m ham images in the fed band. Not that there is much CW on 2m FM, but it could be some kind of wierd repeater ID or something. Considering the "de" part, it sounds more like ham. What receiver was it monitored on?

Caught it with a Winradio 1500e, discone antenna, 152Mhz PAR filter and 88-108FM filter inline. I've had problems with images with this radio, but that's to be expected for a wideband radio with a wideband antenna....in that case, if it is a suspected image, where might I look for the actual signal? 2 meter, 6 meter.......?

The other problem was that the CW was sent on an irregular schedule, and there was no other traffic on that frequency for the couple hours that I had it open...

I'll try again tonight....with all the weather changes lately I may not even hear it at all.

2 meters would be likely. Take the IF of the radio (usually 10.4, 10.7, or 10.8) x 2. For these, that would be 20.8, 21.4, or 21.6. Then subtract that number from the frequency. So it could likely be an image of 147.1, 146.5, or 146.3. Or maybe something else if you have a different IF for your radio.

I kinda thought the callsign FPQ would have been of French origin but Google searches turn up nothing. Keep us posted.
