169.550 P-25 Federal In Avoca?

On the Pro-163 I'm picking up P-25 on 169.550 using the signal stalker.
So it's probably close by, maybe the Avoca airport.
I'm in Old Forge

I do not have a P-25 receiver setup.
If I had to guess this is some Federal usage.

Anybody got a P-25 scanner or DSD to figure out what this is?

Who's flying in or out internationally there now?
Few years ago they didn't want people from a flight that was supposed to go to Canada which was diverted due to mechanical issues, to leave the airport on foot or car because there was no Customs present.

I use a flight tracking app and haven't particularly noticed international flights.

That seems to be a common federal frequency. It was a primary channel in the Great Smoky Mtns Nat Park. I also hear it hear in North Florida . Am not sure if Osceola National forest or CBP in Jacksonville. The dispatch side is in the clear and the units transmitting are encrypted.

Maybe it's because of cargo they have Customs there now. FedEx or Amazon probably want that.

The only true confirmaton will be when/if you can confirm the NAC

As other have pointed out 169.5500 is shared among multiple agencies , and varies by Region/State etc
Just in PA, we have 3 different agencies on that Freq. CBP, ICE and NPS

And yes the 162-174 range is generally a Federal Agency [95% of the time, some exceptions]
