170.565 activity

while I was waiting for an appointment today, I did a search and found 170.565 with a PL of 97.4 active. anyone know what it might be used for? there was about 4 men talking. sounded like they were leaving for the day. I didn't have time to monitor any longer.

I was in Wincehster, VA. also, this is posted in the Federal Forum.

My guess would be FBI or Army Corps of Engineers since both have facilities in Winchester.

aware of both as well as FEMA. I've "heard" they are in a nondescript location in the city.

Army Corps of Engineers may be what it is. it might also be forestry. I'll get to my appointment early tomorrow and see what I can hear.

thank you. that may be what it is. I was able to hear it off freq from what I thought it was anyway. I did a search for 170.5625 in the DB but it came back to nothing. I guess you can't search federal freqs.

edit: I searched again for 170.56250 and it found it. I guess I was doing something stupid or wrong.
