50 mhz is open to the US as I type from here - just ft8 signals. Not seeing much utility signals above say 37 mhz but one absolute doozy a little earlier

31.600 pl 151.4 Mil coms about grid numbers very busy sounded like tanks or big guns. Anyone know here not in TN ..
42.080 pl 118.8 CHP was busy with 3 car wreck..

That 31.6 - if you have it recorded post one of the grid references. I've heard a lot of training traffic out of Gagetown, New Brunswick in recent times. Distance should be possible for you.Nice opening today here got the following here in TN.

31.600 pl 151.4 lots of traffic talk of 496 yards and many other stations calling talk of the center and of pontiac and talk of radar did not get grid numbers but will keep trying.

Many stations heard from CHP here sems 39.00 mhz comes in 1st then fades out as 42 mhz stations come in then 42 mhz fades out with 39 mhz fading away for god all by 1pm my time cst here in TN. Angelo

I was listening only because my eyes were closed so I don't have the frequencies. The day started off early with CHP coming in and going out but around 3pm Suffolk county decided to locate my antenna. Fire-alarm is heard first, not sure about that one, not enough info. Suffolk is barely heard saying operate on UHF. A dispatch for Deer Park at east 4th st. 15:08. Next is a fuel spill on the Long Island expressway east of the 'Sags' (Sagtikos State Parkway) 15:09. Cutchogue took me about an hour to translate into the southern dialect. Cutchogue fire dept respond to MVA at Rt. 25 and Manor hill lane, 15:25. Rocky Point fire dept. gets a dispatch at 15:54. Fire-alarm again at 16:17. Holbrook fire dept. dispatch to Coats between Eugene st and Levy ave. Last up is Greenport dispatched to Peconic landing on Brecknock rd. Fire-alarm ends the recording.

After listening to some recordings: 37.940 - 141.3 tone is KVR745 (CASSADAGA VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL SYSTEM) in upstate NY.

31.600 pl 151.4 mil coms turns out its from Canada gagetown base in new brunswick as Mrpaul had pointed out heard much traffic with canadian accents and even french accents ,finaly got grid number for that area ! Busy place wonder why i dont hear new england states comms ??CHP was blasting here as well !Angelo

Hey Angelo, the busy New England states (on 33 mhz) are probably just a bit close to you for F skip. You'll hear them in the summer via Sporadic E though. Skip length also varies with frequency- down on 26 and 27 mhz I bet you can hear New England on decent days.
