I have two different counties, one on Bank 1 and one on Bank 2. I can scan both banks, but one county gets so many calls that it covers the other one.

The two counties are both 800 Mhz digital trunking.

Is there an easy way to scan just one bank at a time without locking out all of the channels for one county?

Well, I must agree with W5JSS as I normally trunk banks 0,2,4,9 on my Pro96.
These are 2 Travis County APCO25, 1 LCRA EDACS, and 1 Williamson County APCO25.
(Other banks are set for San Antonio various)

No porblem, BUT you must be patient and hit the PAUSE button when somthing comes alomg you want to stay with.

Check how many control channels and Alpha Tags you have programmed into each bank.
I have USB cable, RR Data Base, and Win96. HIGHLY RECOMMEND same for you as it seems to be the best scanner-management scheme I'm ever had. None of the stuff I've mentioned is free, but it's all worth it especially with Rebanding coming at us, fast.

As previously mentioned - it helps to have the tools to manage your scanner. You can take advantage of using Banks in open or closed mode. I also have a large trunked system that I listen to. I run it in two Banks, both in closed mode with the TG's from 1 large city in one Bank and the TG's from 2 smaller cities in anotherBank.

Sets his scanner up pretty much how I have mine set up and I would suggest that it might be the best bet for you also. Set up the two banks with all the tg's that you want to hear then put the banks in closed mode. While scanning the banks press the Func then 5 keys to toggle banks between open + and closed - modes.

Lots of times I will open various banks up just to see what if any new stuff that I can catch. Usually do this during off peak hours ( in the later evening )
