220 mhz band in houston.

okay i know there a repeater in houston texas for the 220 band but i'm wonder if it is used a lot. is there a way to see if its used a lot are is there someone in houston that use it.

the reason i ask is i'm thinking of add a new radio to my list of items wanted, i have a ft-60r now love it.

The only way to find out really is to listen on a 220 capable scanner or by asking the repeater owner directly. I suspect it's lightly used. Don't let usage levels alone steer your decision. One more ham on 220 is one more. Encourage others to take the 220 plunge with you!
