Decided to do something different this evening, hooked the scanner up to a Wilson "Lil Will" CB antenna and scanned 25 to 30 MHz for a while. I noticed that even though 11 meters was hopping, 10 meters didn't seem to have much of anything going on.
Logs:
25.9100 FM/C85.4 STL (much weaker than usual)
25.9900 FM/C85.4 STL (about the same as it usually is, full quieting when the band is open)
26.5250 AM "roger that, can you hear my echo?" (CB outbanders)
26.6750 AM "Bowhunter, I'm up"
26.7150 AM Spanish CB outbanders, very busy
26.7750 AM Spanish CB outbanders
26.8150 AM "yeah, those are hard to find nowadays"
26.8750 AM - outbanders
26.9150 AM - outbanders, also very busy
27.4250 AM - outbanders
27.4450 LSB "812 in Mississippi"
27.4550 AM - outbanders
Nothing above 28 to report, sadly. Hopefully these nightly 11 meter openings are a sign that 10m and lowband will be open more often in the future...
