Greetings:
I have a failing battery pack on my 296 (someone on here is building me a new one).
The radio does not hold a charge for any length of time anymore, less than an hour.
What I noticed is that the radio will continue to work with the annoying beep for over an hour. Is this normal? When the battery pack was working 'normally' I noticed that it would turn off in less than an hour.
Also, am I doing damage to the radio by keeping it 'charged'? In that I mean, I plug it into my car adapter and run it off that and then plug it overnight with my 9 volt charger.
Am I doing damage to the pack by not letting run its 'normal' cycle i.e. charge for 14 hrs, use till low battery then repeat?
Any advice, tips, etc are always appreciated.
Eric
