I picked up a 2m hex beam, rotor and control in a trade with a guy. He said it worked yet when he took it down (The rotor and control work fine after I connected a couple loose wires) but the Hex has seen a lot of years of weather. Looks to be made of fiber glass and center beam is starting the break down a little and the wire supports are a bit bowed with age.
My question is would I be ok spray painting the whole thing to protect it from breaking down farther? Its still a pretty solid build but I just wanna keep it from getting worse and will the slight bows in the wire supports effect the usability of it or should I try building a new one and not waste my time?
My main goal is use it for a Yaesu FT221R on SSB and CW (if the old girl still works)
