346xt Display Question

Is there a way to stop or change the scrolling parts of the display on a BC346XT? All I want displayed is the frequency # and the agency (pottsville police) without anything else blinking or scrolling. Can this scanner do this? I'm using freescan to program and the scanner works well, the display is bothersome to me with the scrolling stuff. I'm guessing most people don't have a problem with this.

Make sure your in MODE 1 (sounds like you are).. and the UNIT ID is off (since you didnt want to see it)

now after that the only thing you can do is change the SYSTEM NAME, and TOWER NAME (if its a trunked freq)... those will always flash on the top

Change the GROUP NAME as well to POTTSVILLE POLICE, that takes away even more scrolling.

Sometimes the default tower name is SITE-1... change that to POTTSVILLE POLICE.. and name the system POTTSVILLE POLICE as well


that way you only see
POTTSVILLE POLICE
TGID / NAME
freq

so mode 1, UNIT ID OFF, change system name, tower/site name (if trunk), and group name to the same thing.

Thanks Kris, That made a big difference. The scanner is much more enjoyable now and easier to read the display. This scanner has so many features it's a bit confusing, I learn something new about it everyday. Much appreciated.
