Ok so I just plugged this freq into my radio as I'm reading this post and I believe I hear some voice already. very static signal but I hear what appears to be a male voice coming through the static.

Will continue to monitor!

EDIT: CONFIRMED. picking up in New Jersey! signal now pretty loud and clear! also speaking either Spanish or Papiamento as well. signal faded out towards the end.

Spent a week in Aruba and did a little searching, will add some to the Wiki and others make a DB Submission, but on this topics, my GRE500
picked up NOTHING on 38.2750 even while at the Airport...

Has anyone else taken a trip down that way and confirm that is where it actually is, or maybe over in Venezuela, Columbia or another Island for the low band, listening to the VHF Air channels ?? FYI - I don't generally use the 500 for Low Band, so I don't know the normal performance

So now, the question is WHY are they being heard on 38MHz? It's not civil aviation spectrum -- 95% of all civil aviation aircraft shouldn't have that spectrum, it doesn't seem to be a published freq for the airport, and military aviation should be able to come up on 120.90 (Beatrix Tower/Approach). And now, adding more to the mystery, Bill didn't hear it while in Aruba...

It may be a local .mil agency operating drones in the controlled airspace near the airport. They finished their training and took down the crossband link. I don't know why the (shudder) cartels would be interested in the approach frequency?
