I don't know how but...

I have three priority channels (conventional freqs.) and somehow, after a bit of time I realized the scanner was silent for too long and upon inspection the screen read "Priority Channel Not Found" or something similar.

It resulted in the scanner deactivating the priority function as well as deactivating the first (earliest in the systems chain) channel's priority.

Anyone have a similar experience?? And/or why this happened. I don't recall it happening before.

It usually means you don't have the priority channel programmed. Is it possible you changed or modified the memory files and did not program the priority channels?

DaveIN,

I finally chased down the problem this morning after reading your reply.

Here's what happened...

I had system 4 locked out but turned on (S0:4) and I magically managed to turn off all the un-locked systems containing priorities, leaving locked-out system 4 to correctly raise the "Priority Scan - No Channel" error. D'OH!

Furthermore, if system 4 magically became the only system to scan, the 396T raised the "Scan Mode - Nothing to Scan" error.

Both problems are easy to duplicate and are obviously "once in a blue moon" goofs.

Thanks,

Andy
