Is it possable to get a alpha tag to show up in place of the freq. I would rather have a tower name than a tower freq. Thanks in advance for any help. Mark

Assuming you programmed in the alpha tag when creating the system / group / frequency (or talkgroup), while scanning, press Hold, then Func + 5, then Hold again to resume scanning. Func + 5 in Hold mode toggles between showing the frequency / talkgroup id and alpha tag.

In context, he is asking about the trunked frequency. The correct answer is "no."

But wouldn't that be a good idea UPman? Throw that idea in your "features to add in future models" Site alaising would be a awesum option.

Put one radio site per scanner site and name the scanner site to match the radio site. The 996 displays the Site alpha tag when scanning.
