396XT General Services scanning.

Any way to permanently turn off the General services scanning on the 396XT? I have 2 systems programed in right now but can't stand having it scanning through the Public Safety, Railroad, Military Aircraft etc along with it. Any way to disable those?

Yes, this is a new scanner for me so I'm working out the bugs and learning the quirks of it but this one has me annoyed. I don't recall the other Unidens I have just throwing them in the search along with my programmed ones as a default like this one has.

Menu > Search For > Edit Service > Public Safety > Search with Scan > Set Lockout > Lockout

Repeat for all of the other services.

Now I feel dumb. I dug around in the menus for hours and made it as far as the "Search with Scan" but never even saw the "Set Lockout" selection in there. You nailed it, they're locked out now. Many thanks!

You can do it a bit quicker than using the menu. While the scanner is in a search you want to turn off, press F+L/O, L/O.
