396xt usb driver help

Hi all

I got my 396xt a couple of days back and cant wait to get it up and working.

However, I cant get the usb cable driver installed for some reason. It just doesnt download/install from the site at scannermaster. What do i do ? any way to get this sorted out? Also, any easy-to-read and understand manual out there for the 396xt?

try this one from scannow.org:

this is for running on vista or win7.

once downloaded, right click on the installation icon and "run as administrator"

As for the manual - there's a printed one from Scanner Master or a downloadable version (free). Along with the links for both (at the bottom) this link from our wiki leads to our DMA FAQ

which applies to all the DMA driven radios.

In addition, since you got drivers from FreeScan, download that as your program for the XT. It's free, and we host the manual here on RR...

Thanx ka3jjz......I am planning on using freescan once the radio is up and running. the help page link u have sent is a great help.

R1VINCE.....the driver simply doesnt download.....even the zipped file ! what do i do? thanx.
