Let's get more info....
Step through your process.
I assume you are in mass storage mode because you are seeing the 2 boxes?
Is the radio mounted in Windows (can you see it in File Explorer)?

Sentinel will let you select 'erase lists on scanner' and 'force write full database, even if the scanner is not in mass storage mode & connected to the PC.

The OK button is grayed out until you select a drive (SD card) to write to.

If there is no 'drive' listed in the dialog box, then either the scanner is not connected, or is not in mass storage mode. Until you put the scanner in mass storage mode, as well as connect it to your PC, you will not be able to proceed with the process.

Also, if a later version of the database is currently available in Sentinel than is in the scanner, the database will be updated when you write to scanner. You do not need to force write the database to update it. When you update the database in Sentinel, it is only updated on your computer. It will not be updated in the scanner even if the scanner is connected at the time. You must write to scanner to update the database in the scanner.

Again.... step through your process....

When you hook up the cable to the radio, do you hear 2 beeps and does it say/ask you:
USB Cable Detected
Select USB mode
Mass Storage = "E"
Serial Mode = "."
And... are you pressing "E"

If you don't see the above, then you either have a bad cable, bad port on the radio or Windows is not seeing it.
Look in Device Manager - any yellow triangles?
Swap cables.

Troubleshooting is a process of elimination.
