453.875 - Schenectady?

In the last few days I have logged quite a bit of traffic on 453.875 MHz. with a CTCSS of 123.0 Hz. I had thought this was used by Schenectady City Schools for security, but lately I have been hearing traffic with unit ID's like Hotel 1 & Bravo 1, and the traffic actually sounds like a community watch or community patrol group. Does Schenectady City Schools use ID's like this, or has this channel been re-assigned for some type of community patrol?

I will keep an eye on the two freqs you posted and see if I can get an ID for you. I'm a bit far north, but I've heard alot from that area.

453.875 =Neighborhood Watch

453.875/123.0 is used by the Neighborhood Watch in Schenectady. Many times you may hear the portables call in to SNH base or Hotel one.
This frequency was especially busy over the July fourth holiday as the units were reporting groups shooting off fireworks to the PD.

Thanks for the info. It sounded like Neighborhood watch traffic but I wasn't sure. Does City Schools still use the channel as well or have they turned it over strictly to Neighborhood Watch?

I haven't heard the school district on this frequency, that's not to say they are using a different CTCSS.
