I can pick up this frequency loud and clear out here in Griswold. It repeats 46.18. Is it a real powerful transmitter or just a very high tower? Also does anybody remember 462.562 from a few years back? That one use to repeat everything from QV, WW, KX, all the Middlesex county frequencies, and even some pd's if I remember correctly. That was a pretty cool one to listen to, but hasn't been around for a few years now.

462.5625 aka "Gesmundo" was taken offline when FRS became popular and people started asking questions.

It was an old UHF transmitter with audio supplied by a continuous coverage AOR receiver with an antenna VERY high up a 200ft tower. It scanned 46.18, 46.22, 33.74, 33.78, 33.90, and 155.400 all off PL. We could also add more remotely using the Gesmundo MS-DOS terminal emulator software and a 2.4kbps modem.

Thanks for the info spatch713. Was it used for anything official or just for scanner hobbyists? I can't remember how I came across that frequency. Like I said it was quite a few years ago. I can remember it was very busy with what seemed like non stop transmissions. I even remember hearing a pd on it too. I never figured out who that was.

Is that thing PL'd, or are you hearing Rockland County coming over from 46.18?
