I heard something about this frequency being a part of either the planned Placer county SO trunked system or Something to do with Nevada County Sheriff.

Anyone know anything about this frequency and what it's used for? i hear some digital or trunked noise on it right now.

It's licensed to Nevada County (Sheriff) on WQED600 with transmitters at Wolf, Banner and the SO dispatch center, plus 40 mobiles. Emission is 20K0F1D which would mean digital data (not voice) - possibly an MDT system?

it was mentioned by an inside source in NCSO that they are getting MDTs, this is probably it. makes sense.

I know that they have a repeater on Banner Mtn, (not sure if that's the only one for the west side) so it's all making sense.

i'd watch for trunking licenses to pop up soon as well for NCSO west.
