Hello all, new to forum.

I have an old 3 legged 50ft tower that I have had for about 20 years. Been working on it the last week. Just about have it sanded down and painted. It is made in 5, 10ft sections.

Question: Does anyone have any ideas on making a break over plate? I have steel, welder, and torch. I will set a 6" pipe in concrete and build a plate to fit. I can't determine how to build a good sturdy hinge.

Also; is Ham II roters still in business? Any better roters on the market? It will need to support at least a ground plain cb antenna, a scanner antenna, and probably a small TV antenna. I will probably add another 20ft of pipe out the top of the nose cone.

I will appreciate any comments.

Tks,

JD

Ham IV is the rotor model now...twos were out a while ago.

Check on some of the US Tower or Texas tower sites. They might have some ideas/models for ya.

Just an observation, but is that a 6" pipe you're putting it on, or is it 6" in the concrete? If it's 6" in the concrete, I hope it's going to be guyed - I don't think that's sufficient for free-standing support.
