700 MHZ. Question!

I"m in the market for a digital scanner. Here in Ct. we have at least one 700 MHZ. system in use. So naturally, I was looking at the specs of both the RS Pro-197 and the Uniden 996XT which interest me. My question is this, the 996 XT begins coverage at 758 MHZ., where the 197 begins at 764 MHZ. Will I be at a disadvantage by getting the 197 with the coverage starting higher in the 700 Mhz. band? Is there anything between 758-764 Mhz. that I would miss by getting the 197? Both scanners cover the current system in use but the difference in coverage is making me wonder. I want to make an informed decision before shelling out the dough! Thanks in advance!

758-764 is the base side of the D block that will be used for broadband networks. You won't miss anything.

Manny, go to www.couponcabin.com and get a coupon, then go to the RS site and buy your scanner. You should get at least 10-15 bucks off.
