Has anyone heard the 72.900 or 72.860 backhaul in troop E recently? I used to hear them daily, but they have disapeared. I guess it's possible they have moved to a dedicated line.

For quite some time there has been a gray dome with a red lightning bolt painted on it mounted on the east side of the tower at Troop E headquarters. This may mean they've switched to a microwave link.
The backhauls are still in operation. I moved my pro-2006 that I monitor 72 Mhz with and found I had a loose coax connection. Good thing SHP doesn't rely on my equipment. LOL
There are still some of the 72 MHz backhaul equipment in place. The Andrews Microwave dish that Shannon is referring to (gray domes with the red lightning bolt) are used for relaying VIPER from E HQ communications to the Faith Mtn tower site. There should still be a 72 MHz yagi in place on the tower at E HQ for relaying to Faith Mtn & back. At least thats how it was when I worked in radio maintenance there but thats been 10 years ago.
