796 "delay" problem

I have a channel, with a conventional frequency, no matter what channel I program this freq into the delay only works once in a while. Have tried the different delay time settings as well as the infinite settings and have programmed the freq elsewhere and the same thing happens, I used scancat lite to program radio in the begining, but have also tried to program manually on the radio itself, still the same. Help, the freq is 155.8875

Could this be an interaction with the priority channels?

don't have priority function on.

If you have Data Skip set to ON this could cause the erratic delay ie: it would stop on an active channel and resume scan ignoring the delay time you set.You would have to go into Menu>System Data and set to OFF.

data skip was set to "on", I turned it off, see what happens. thanks

Hey Mark, set the data skip to off, and so far the freq/channel in question has been operating with the 4 sec delay as I set it up, can't tell if all are ok but when I have more time to monitor we will see. So far so good ,thanks for the info. scannerdweeb.
