Has anyone had any experience with an 800 MHZ duckie as opposed to what the PRO-106 comes with? I just read some reviews on Radio Shack's 800 MHZ ant and people seem to be pretty happy with the results but I did not see where anyone had tried it on the PRO-106.

I also have it on the PRO-106. For a fact, I have it on all my scanners. It is a big improvement. I bought them when they were $16 but would pay $20 for them without a thought.

I had thought about getting the 800Mhz, but I was skeptical. Earlier this month my wife bought it for me for my birthday. It does very well. I am now hearing trafic from 30 miles, and on a good night I can hear traffic from 40-50 miles away from inside my house. I have a PRO106.

I can't talk to having one on a 106...but on my 164 I go from nothing on the 800 band with the stock duckie to having a clear signal from Seattle PD, which is about 25 miles away. No loss in the other bands, in fact they come in better on the 800 antenna... Best $20 I have spent on an antenna... I have a Watson 881, but the RS 800 gets a much better 800 signal, so when I am listening to 800 I swap out my antenna's. If you have the $20 and need a better antenna in the 800 band you cannot beat it... If you are looking for an overall antenna, the Watson 881 is $35... Pulls in everything within about 50 miles of me...

I have one and use it on occasion when i have multi-path issues with starcom21 on my pro-197 and it works fairly well. It's on a 90 degree elbow connector connected at ground level and receives full strength sites up to 8-10 miles from me.

I have a Super Gainer, but bought a special 800MHz ducky from Scanner Master. The dedicated 800 antenna works better than the Super Gainer. I think it was a 2.5db gain 800MHz. It wasn't the cheaper RS antenna though.
