851.2500 P25 Phase 2 Control Channel

Found a new P25 Phase 2 control channel today on 851.2500 MHz. Using Pro96Com and UniTrunker, the following was found:

Control channels: 851.2500, 851.4000, 851.6125 and 852.0625
System ID: 2BB
RFSS: 001
Site ID: 021
WACN: BEE00

No voice traffic or radios seen affiliating yet. No adjacent or peer sites noted.

From the FCC licenses, this belongs to the City and County of San Francisco. The control channels are taken from both the existing public safety and public works systems. I will keep an ear out for voice traffic or radio affiliations.

If I were a betting man I'd say these are the P25 replacement sites for the SF CERS and PERS SmartX sites.

I suspect that this new Site 21 will replace CERS, and the existing 700 MHz Interoperability system (Site 25) will replace PERS. Site 25 and PERS are both 4-site simulcast cells, so their coverage should be comparable. CERS is an 8-site simulcast cell for enhanced in-building coverage.

851.25, 851.40, 851.6125 and 852.0625 are all existing frequencies that were pulled from both the CERS and PERS Smartzone sites.
