Decided to do a factory reset and start over. Now I cannot receive anything including the local FM stations. My SDS200 is receiving fine on same 4 port connector. Probably something simple but went through all menus and can't figure it out. Yeah, I probably screwed up. Someone get me on the right track please. Thanks.

Was it working fine before the reset? Do you see signals on the screen?

Some basic things that come to mind:
- When trying to listen to VHF is the antenna plugged into the high frequency input of the R8600?
- Is the squelch set to 0?
- Is the RF set to 100?
- Is the mode set correctly?
- Do you get anything on the AMBCB? Try all antenna inputs.

Have both HF and VHF/UHF cables plugged in the back. Tried HF with nothing received. Tried FM stations with nothing. BUT, tried turning on the P Amp and receive only a few FM stations. Was able to listen to all FM stations before the reset. When I did get a few FM stations, hardly a bump on the waterfall display. Also, tried a local airport freq that uses the automatic recording that I have listened to many times with about 7 on the S meter. Not only can I not hear anything on the correct freq, I found it about 1 mhz off. It was hard to hear it. Not ready to contact Icom yet. I'll get into the manual to see if I can find anything that needs to be done after a reset. AFAIK, the reset just resets it back to factory settings.

Lets see if we can get you back to where you started.

When you turn on radio what firm wear version is showing ?
Putting that information aside try this key sequence .
Radio is in off mode,
Power
Menu
sdcard
load settings
choose a early version

There is also a group io which is very active .

V1.35. Am starting to hear things again. This is so weird. Its like is slowly coming back to life. Still have some more testing around the bans to do. Will check out HF tonight. Tried some HF above 8Mhz earlier with no results. It was like no antenna was connected but still had the noise floor. Even have that airport tower on the correct freq booming in. I'll post back my findings.

Was testing out HF last night. For awhile it was deaf until I noticed the radio kept switching the antenna to vhf/uhf. Seemed every Mhz it would switch back while I was dialing through the frequencies. Once I corrected it each time, it stayed. Went through 2 Mhz to 20 Mhz a couple of times to make sure. Next test will be above 20 Mhz. Don't recall having the antenna constantly switching when I first operated it. Hoping for better conditions tonight for more testing on HF as some frequencies I know that usually are banging away are currently hard to hear. One thing for sure, NEVER do a total reset. Will post back after I test other areas.

Early on with my IC-R8600.
I would power-up my unit and scan the HF region, the background noise/signals would seem very low.
Then suddenly, everything would roar back to life and appear as normal.

I would highly recommend the CS -8600 cloning software .
If you make a copy of your Memories to a file you can reload or edit it very easy .

Been holding off but need to get it. Seems things are back to normal so far. Listening to P25 now with no issue. Whats weird is it seemed like it needed to warm up before coming back to life. Still checking other bands throughout this weekend.

That's exactly what my IC-R8600 seemed to do.
