@610utc getting some occasional traffic.Very spotty/noisy. Sounds like base to plane(s). Saying "scanner link"?, "Delta 24", "Reach flight"(was very clear) and an "Eagle" call among other sporadic traffic. My guess its Offutt being its a little less then 3 hrs away. ATC is much more clear than the plane(s), I can hear them but to much noise to make out anything.

I've never heard anything but Andrews base and planes calling Andrews on 11.175 during the day. So take my assumption with a grain of salt.

If this is in fact Offutt, its time for me to find a ant specific to milair

8891 is one of the Major World Air Route Area (MWARA) HF atc frequencies. Specifically, it belongs to the North Atlantic Family D list of frequencies, covering most of Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, the UK, Norway and Sweden.

Sounds like you may have caught a military aircraft communicating with civilian controllers...not uncommon.

Interesting thanks. I was assuming Offutt due to it being listed on B10 spread sheet, only it is listed as 8892. I was hearing it on both freqs when going back and forth. Stronger on 8891 though. I'll have to give it a try again and see if can pick up an airport name after work.....in 12 hours! ugh

8.8910 USB MAJOR WORLD AIR ROUTE CALL IN GANDER
Steve

Hi Steve,

Gander is only one of the handful of ground stations that make up the MWARA NAT-D HF atc region. The other stations are: Bobo, Iceland, Shanwick and Arctic. Gander and Shanwick are probably heard most frequently stateside...
