Interesting traffic on AM (not USB) - 9007khz and 9004khz @ 2200z 6/28

Perhaps you guys can understand the callsigns in the second recording.

I see that RANGER callsign has been tracked to Whidbey Island Naval Station but I never expected them to broadcast in AM.

Here's a couple of recordings:

9007khz
9004khz

Second recording sounds like Ranger 519 calling Habitat (TOC, NAS Whidbey Island, WA)
According to the Callsigns list Ranger could be an EP-3 from VQ-2, NAS Whidbey Island but somebody else will have to confirm.
That is very interesting to hear them in AM mode.

Ah that's what he was saying - HABITAT. I wonder if RANGER 21 was a helo and the pilot just simply didn't realize he was transmitting in AM mode.

that sounds like operator error to me. Like nickcarr said, he might not of realized he was calling using AM Mode.
