In Colorado it's re-banding time and I need to start changing the site frequencies in my 996 for the Statewide DTRS, as they change. My question is this - is there a way on the 996 to make the necessary frequency changes en-masse (one change affects all sites with same name) rather than system by system for sites that exist on more than one system?

Since the firmware changes to support rebanding haven't been developed yet, isn't this a moot point - at least for now? Although I suppose it would be good to know going forward.....73s Mike

That's right - I forgot. APCO 25 systems rebanding will cause a necessary firmware update to be made to the Unidens.
So what would happen if I re-programmed the 996 now with the new frequencies?

Also, I just realized that my original question may be more applicable to the software board...

Nevermind...

"Even if you enter in all of the frequencies for the system, the scanner still relies on the above calculation and will miss the comms."

The Wiki is a beautiful thing!

Rebanding will not affect P25 systems other than the change in frequencies. Scanners should not need a firmware update to continue monitoring P25 systems.

As to your original question, I cannot think of any way to do what you are requesting.

Paul,

As always, I appreciate when you chime in. That's good news as there are quite a few here that have already migrated. As for the site re-programming, I'll just print the list and bang away.

Thanks,

Mike
