996xt and NAC

I have a 996xt and on a conventional 800 freq the display shows the NAC code however no audio comes out. I found the NAC by searching then saved it. Can anyone suggest why I am not hearing audio. I did the same thing on a different freq and it works fine.

The channel your listening to could be using encryption, and if so you would not hear anything while they are talking. Sometimes one or two of the radios involved may be in the "clear", not using encryption and you will be able to hear them.

they could also be using more than one NAC code, the Feds sometimes do that.
