according to this site i just program sears2 freqs and i should pick up my work, trace ambulance. Well after a month of reading and rereading directions, trial and error I still cannot figure it out. Sorry I have a radioshack Pro94. I can program sears2 and bankone freqs but when i try to program the talk groups it says it is searching and never finds a talk group. whats weird is on my non trunk scanner i can get traffic on the freqs, but the pro 94 cannot. ive tried abeep and radioshack, but they are no help. if anyone can help i'd truly appreciate it. thanks

The scanner that you're using (the RS PRO-94) is not equipped to trunk track the system that Trace Ambulance uses. The system is an LTR system. Some of Radio Shack's other scanners will track the system (RS PRO-92, -97, -2051, -2067, -2055) and most of the newer Unidens will as well.

Most likely your -94 is not giving you any audio because it is not catching a Motorola or EDACS controll channel and so assumes that the transmissions are not related at all to what you want to hear.

To use the -94 to listen to those frequencies you can enter the frequencies but leave them in FM mode rather than MO or ED. The down side to monitoring in this configuration is that you will hear squelch bursts and system identifiers as well as all other traffic on the system.

You mentioned that you had another scanner. What model is that? Maybe that can track LTR systems.....

thank you

matt

thanks for the help. I am a novice when it comes to scanners, so i didnt know about trunking, digital trunking, motorola type I and II, EDAC, UHF, VHF and all that other stuff. My first scanner is a Radioshack one, its their Nascar scanner now. (its a non trunking scanner.) It was cheap so I bought it. The joys of being uninformed or impetuous. Again thank you for the help.
