I have tried unsuccessfully for the past several weeks to program the University Police in Northwest Indiana (Indiana University Northwest and Purdue Calumet). I have used the following system frequencies: 774.71875(c); 772.84375(a); 773.44375(a); 773.99375(a) and talk group 143 for Purdue Calumet and talk group 144 for Indiana University Northwest. For the past several weeks I have heard NOTHING. I live less than 5 miles from IUN and less than 10 miles from Purdue Cal. I have even tried to program the system frequencies and talk group for the Safe T (Phase I). I have a BCD996P2 scanner and have programmed Merrillville PD, Hobart PD, State Police Districts 13 and 21, Fire Dispatch and others. I use ARC XT for programming. So I don't know what the heck is going on. Any advice would be welcomed.

I notice that Indiana University and Purdue Calumet also have conventional frequencies. I have ARC-XT also. If you attach your Lake County Public Safety trunked system programming file, I will check it for problems. You will need to right click on the file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.

First things first... can you hearing the Control Channel for Lake County's public safety system; and the SAFE-T system?

Can you receive ANY TGs on either system?

The Universities are on Hoosier Safe T System talk group # 10947 for IUN and #12691 for Purdue. The talk groups that you're trying to program are from the Lake County P25 Phase II which those departments don't use. All of Lake County is on the Lake County P25 Phase II with the exception of Schererville and Cedar Lake are on the Hoosier Safe T System and are dispatched by SOUTHCOM.

Ok, I have read all the replies and reprogrammed the scanner for the Safe T System with the talk groups 10947 and 12691. I still got nothing. Someone said it might be a simulcast issue, whatever that means?

Please attach your ARC-XT file for SAFE-T and I will check it for problems. Refer to post #3 with instructions for how to do that.
