• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

As a matter of fact, if you upgrade your radio to R15 firmware, ADP Software crypto becomes free! I believe the upgrade runs around $75 not including labor if there is any...

I just upgraded my XTS5K firmware to version 15 and I didn't see it. Any hints on where it may be hiding in the CPS?

It should be under Radio Wide -> Secure, and on Secure Settings you have to select "ADP software encryption."

I actually haven't upgraded to 15 yet, but I am told the functionality should be included. If it won't let you turn it on I'll ask around...

It has to be enabled in the flashcode. I have a number of XTS2500's with the latest version 15 firmware (flashcode 541018-000488-4) and the feature is not available. When I try to click on ADP you get the little blue glasses noting the feature is not available. I would have to re-flash the radio to 541018-00048C-9 to turn on ADP software encryption.

this is correct. The flash update 15.00.09 dosnt add in anything new (or at least I dont see it in the update). If the radio is flashed with the ADP software encryption feature (D12 bit 2) it will be available to the user. M dosnt charge too much for this feature to be added.

I spoke to our dealer for some flash upgrades for ADP. I was quoted a little over $300 per radio. But it was only about $10 extra per radio - at time of order only. I wish I would have known that a few years ago.

15.00.09 or .10 was released to fix an issue with mobiles and power up, as well as a minor DSP issue.
