Aiken County SO deputy dies after being hit while directing traffic

Heard the call Officer Down yesterday around 5:50 pm. Although I'm not a member of law enforcement or ems, I found myself caught up by the power of those two words. I suppose you never expect to hear them in your own county... it always happens somewhere else.

I was on my way to Augusta and was caught in the traffic on 20 when they landed the helicopter last night and I have to agree it did cause a chill to run up my spine
