Hey, just hooked it up, cant get it to stop on a frequency when scanning.
I have the Frequency Scanner plugin installed.

Been through al the utube vids and other searches.
I understand it's a big learning curve..........
Trying to search VHF air, 121.0 to 137mhz.
I have aircraft all around as I also have a handheld scanner with that range already programmed and running, just the SDR# just keeps going, and going.......it's like the energizer bunny........

Any settings that I should be aware of?

Im running it through a Larsen Tri band antenna sitting in my window.
Thanks to all!!!

It's been a long time since using SDR#. My current program is SDRuno. Look to adjust the squelch and/or if there is a scan stop threshold setting. Name may be different but the idea is scanning has to have a reason to stop. A signal is present(breaks squelch) and/or it exceeds a predetermined scan level.

Which version of the Frequency Scanner plug-in you using?
Hopefully not the community installer version.
If you use the updated version of the plug-in from here, it has plenty of documentation to install, setup and use the plug-in.
It's recommend to use it with SDR# v1716 as newer versions have not been tested and it will perform a bit slow in these newer versions from what I've seen and been told.

I've been using 1807 for quite a while. Is there hope for compatibility in the future, or do I need a duplicate installation?

Really, where does it say that?
I'm sure you will find the newer plug-in far better than the older one.

As far as I'm aware, the plug-in works all the way up to latest version of SDR#.
If people don't report any issues I can't look into them.

I don't use any version of SDR# past v1716 because:
  • The new UI is horrid and irritating to maintain layout.
  • Requires way to many resources just for a UI.
  • Requires too much screen space.
  • Because of the above, is not very good or usable with lower spec PCs or older hardware.
  • The standard RTL frontend is not very good.
  • New version prevents me from using and experimenting with my RTL dongle frontend.
  • The Frequency Scanner plug-in is not as fast.
  • For development of plug-ins: SDR# interferes with plug-ins forms while it tries to make old/ancient plug-ins look better.
  • ...

Where does it say that? The maintainer of the plugin doesn't say it won't....just that he doesn't do extensive testing on the teleric-based sdrsharp versions.
So not going to try it......

No point in me saying that the latest version of the plugin works fine with sdrsharp version 0.8131 then is there.......but I've said it anyway in case you decide that actually trying things out makes more sense than vague unsupported claims that it won't work.

Cant say what works or doesnt with the bloated idiotware installer

OK, installed the JUST the Frequency scanner plug in........yes it does seem to work fine with the new version.
Still have trouble scanning.
What do the yellow and red lines on the PLUGIN VERIFICATION do when on SCAN?
Found something that says the red line is where the squelch will open and the yellow line is where it will close........

Extensive well written documentation comes with the plugin. Well worth reading it

From the post linked above:

Documentation has been created to help with it's installation and usage, please read it.

The link to download the latest version of the plugin is in the last post to this thread --

That's where you are downloading from?

It is in 7z format, use 7-Zip to unzip

once you do this the PDF is in the unzipped folder --

That would be (mega.nz)/Updated_SDRSharp_Plug-ins/NOTE_about_SDR#_1785+.txt :
"Please note that it's most likely that none of these plug-ins will work with SDR# starting from v1785 (.NET 5). This requires a large monetary investment by me to be able to continue development of this free plug-ins. So any updates to the plug-ins will only be for SDR# versions prior to v1784."

It says most likely that none of these plug-ins will work , not won't work.
Since I don't use newer versions of SDR# it's up to people to try it and report that it doesn't.
That file was written when SDR# was changing every 5 minutes and I got sick of fixing the plug-in to work with SDR# because it was interfering in the form layout of the plug-in.

I don't have the resources to test this free plug-in in all Windows and SDR# versions.
