I've Just purchased a tiny little Alinco DJ-X7 Wide Band communications reciever. After studying the manual for the last several days, I've come to the conclusion that this scanner is much more complicated to program my favorite local frequencies in than my Radio Shack Pro-94 Handheld scanner I also have. I've downloaded the software from Alinco to set up my frequencies with the use of the computer interface cord I bought with the unit, but because of the great amount of options this scanner has, I'm finding it very hard for me to understand all what they are trying to say in the tiny little manual that you practically have to use a magnifying glass to read.
Are there any of you out there who also has a DJ-X7 and has successfully learned how to program it ? So far, all I've been able to do with it is just listen to Coast to Coast AM on the AM band, as if it was only a little transistor radio ! Please Help ! Thank You-SW

Hello..

Do a search on Yahoo "Groups" there are a number of Alinco Related list servers that would probably help you. I did see a Dj-x7 group listed, Iam sure the members there could help you out...73

Which Yahoo group talks about the Alnico DJ-X7 ?

Thank you, Rover for answering my call for help on the Alinco DJ-X7. I did go into yahoo groups and found a listing of all kinds of scanner groups, however, I couldn't find any of them that mention the DJ-X7 , nor could I find a group that specifically deals with the Alinco DJ-X7. Could I have turned up with a different page(s) than the ones you mentioned? I got on "Yahoo groups" > Hobbies> "Other">Searched "Scanner Radios", then arrived at the page(s) mentioned. Are these the pages you found that had info on the DJ-X7, or am I on a completely different page? There were 35 or so different groups, but none that listed the Alnico DJ-X7. The listings you found which deals with the Alinco DJ-X7 sure sound like what I'm looking for, If only I could find them. Please Help ! Thank You- SW Radio Shack Pro 94 Alinco DJ-X7

The one listed by judyfinkle is the one I found searching yahoo groups for "alinco".
I have used one for my Alinco Dj- x3, most users are in Europe but they have helped alot too learn about the radio. Don't forget too read the archives...Take Care...

Thank you Rover & judyfinkle

Thank you both for your help in directing me to the Alinco DJ-X7 Yahoo group. I found it & the info within has helped me a lot. I even finally learned how to program my favorite frequencies (without needing to use the software) & my little radio is now happily scanning along, wherever I go. What a fun little unit ! Best regards-SW
