Alinco DJ580T

I need a some quick tips on a Alinco DJ580. I just dug it out of a box, I haven't messed with this old thing since '99. I just want to set it up to scan at the base, maybe transmit on the local EMA repeater. I need to figure out how to get the backlighting to work as well.

To specify, due to the PMs I recieved, the EMA bands that it WAS used for was a ham band, and still is as far as I know...

So, no non-type acceptance here....

You kind of led us off into the wild blue yonder with the text of your thread. Sorry for jumping the gun. I see that you have an Icom V8000 2 meter ham radio too.
