Hello all... I have a BCT15 using ARC15 software that is able to display both Alpha & Numeric Characters at the same time. Example:

Chillicothe Police
158.730

Is there a way to program a BC246T using ARC246 to do the same thing?

I'm only using conventional mode.

Thanks...

I don't know if you can do it thru the arc software, but it is a display mode that you can change directly on the scanner, that will apply to all of your frequencies ... I think it is func then 0 but I could be wrong ... try that out and see ... press hold to stop scanning, then hit func then hit 0 ....... good luck :)

I'm not entirely sure I understand the question, you can program in 16 characters on the 246 they can be letters, numbers or symbols.
You could enter Chillc PD 158.73 think that's 16

Thanks Jerri... let me see if I can be more clear.

On my BCT15 there are two display modes:

Mode 1: shows the Alpha Characters when stopped on a channel
Mode 2: shows Alpha Cahracters on one line - and the numeric characters on a second line when stopped on a channel.

I was trying to get my BC246T to do the same thing.

Maybe its not possible ??

That's not possible with the 246, you can't even toggle from text to numerical display like you can on a Pr0-97. It's one thing the BC246T needs. The only way I can see the TG numbers is to use the software.
