Well, yeah. That's why it freaked me out. They are on 1611khz or something, but not 531. Turns out it was 530 because they are up again and now I can verify that. Must be relay from ??? (quick charging my video camera)

I'm guessing your 530 station is multicultural CIAO Brampton, Ontario - no? Here's a good frequency list for European & African medium wave stations:

Keep trying 531. Algeria on 531 has been very strong here at my Michigan location after local sunset and so far has been the most reliable MW TA signal for me this season. Here's some nice audio from last month:

Heard here peaking to a good steady signal at times with WFAN nulled with mostly country-western music, CNN News @ TOH, and into tribal Native American drums. Not new, but rarely heard here! I was able to record a nice TOH ID:

Neat one k9-was the station I listened to as a kid in Illinois blake THAT was a lot of work! Great efforts and DXs too! Kilocat that Window Rock catch was the best you flatlanders got it made with this. That is a long haul for MW my friend! I got them on right now.

I got a decent copy on CBC Saskatchewan on 540am DX 1300 miles I think this is what I dx'd a while back when I said it was CBT way out in Newfoundland...at 10,000 watts, I doubt I was accurate. This makes more sense. Still I like this DX! Station IDs at the very end of the video-slammin copy for that many miles.

Sometimes you have to listen closely when IDing a CBC station. They often will say the call letters of a affiliate station where a program originates from. CBW 990 in Winnipeg does this often as has fooled me a couple of times. NPR(National Public Radio) also does this as a lot of their recorded broadcasts originate from WGBH in Boston.
But getting CBK 540 from your location is a good catch!

Thanks Jim-I don't know if this is the case but last night it seemed that eastwest propogation dropped and northsouth opened up here? This particular frequency is on my regular nightly MW check and this is the strongest I have gotten it so far.

Yes. They will propogate from different directions on different days/nights. Try the strong direction on different frequencies and you'll log a lot of stations coming from the same area. One morning, a couple of months ago, they were coming in from the Saskatewan/Alberta/Manitoba area and I loggged quite a few new stations. The other night after sunset many were coming in from the south.

Wanted to share..for whatever reason, AM DX is very very hot in Sacramento region tonight!
Lowest, I'll say absolutely NO noise.. and very little fade from all directions.
Heard KSTP 1500 Minnesota, along with KWKH Shreveport. Many many more! Enjoy listening to KTDD 1350 khz "the toad" down in San Bernadino area great real old " country gold" lot'sa music very little talk.
Hey Ridgescan..ya ought'a try it. Wonderin if you can hear it?!.This "twin coil ferrite" is proving to be a very good DX tool. I put a nine volt battery in it and took it out for "field day" tonight..parked next to a huge water tank( Carmichael Ca's water supply)..and Wow!!!...AM Bdcst got really weird...all kinda stuff poundin' in..and it was difficult to null and such..but very strange and curious but fun. Night Watchman was kinda
miffed..I told him I was just "tryin' to tune in "the toad"..and I offered him a dip of copenhagen,he said "book it", spit and walked off. Whatever that means..guess i'm wondering if any of ya DX'rs have noticed the great conditions..or is it just N cal??

I think "book it" meant "leave" Charlie. Too bad ya can't even enjoy a peaceful mobile dx in your own town now thanks to terrorism. Just like I can't watch the jets take off at SFO anymore without 4 crownvics rolling up on me. They even closed off the vista point there that was put there for the sole purpose of watching takeoffs. Yeah there's a definate shift in MW propogation here as you can see in my last DX I am getting improved DXs from the north now.

IrvingtonVFD43 That TIS transmission..super low-power stuff!! That's what's been happenning around here, too. Propagation allowing lots of low power stuff usually not heard..rollin' in like never before!!
530 mhz hear usually one signal, but hearing three kinda "fringy" but hearin 'em nevertheless.
Conditions better practically every night. Around sunset..get's crazy..from all directions! Gettin KTWO 880 Lexington NE ( local for you) in here with no fade whatsoever. Have fun!!

Charlie has a great MW DX haul every time-I must have one too many mountain ranges between me and the midwest because I only get as far as Colorado but I did get Saskatchewan the other day at 1300 miles so there is hope here

Nice log. Here in Wisconsin, we can only get a few of those. WBAP, KRVN, and KOA are moderately hard to hear, KNBR is heard maybe once a year during the winter and the rest I don't think ever make it this far east without some SERIOUS effort and BIG antennas.
