am to shortwave switching

I have a Grundig Eaton BT Field Radio that when I'm listening to am at night, the radio is switches to sw1 all by itself sometime in the early morning hours. It does this all the time. If I wake up at 3 in the morning, the radio somehow has switched over to sw1. Very confusing!
