I guess that when people start talking about you in a negative way then you just close the forum. But you can easily talk negative about others when you don't even know who they are. I think its pretty crappy the way you chime in and then close the forum. Whether people misspell or ask a question that has been asked before on RR it doesn’t matter. I am sure you have been guilty of it before. Not necessarily on this site but sometime in your life.

I have to agree in some respects. It seems that a lot of these moderators are abusing their power to lock threads. There should be some sort of guidelines on when to do this, not just when they "feel like it".

I'm here a lot
Poor conduct is the reason for most thread closures , emotions take over intellect.
The moderators have been entrusted to "rein in" wayward discussions. They are only
fulfilling their mandate.

WayneH has repeatedly asked those with issues with his moderation to contact him
via private messaging . This thread should have gone that route. (in my opinion) :(

From Wayne's last post in the exact thread you are referring to:

I have no problem taking this up via PM so if someone has an issue with something I have said then feel free to PM me about it so we can have a mature discussion about it.

I would not call this a PM...I guess you are not interested in having a mature discussion about his decision or else you would have taking this to PMs instead of whining about this in public...as a moderator Wayne made the decision to close the thread and gave reasons why...you starting another thread about the same topic does not help your cause...discuss this in private with Wayne or take it to Lindsay directly...as a fellow moderator I know nothing pisses us off more than to lock a thread for a specific reason and then to have a forum member start another thread on the very same topic as kind of a "screw you" reaction...that is the quickest way to get on my shizz list...we don't go locking threads because it is "fun" or because we are trying to anger anyone...we lock threads for specific reasons...Lindsay has chosen us moderators because he knows we know how to help him keep the forums on topic...just a little something to think about...

Guys, relax. Seriously....

We do not go around locking threads for no reason or just "because we feel like it". We do have guidelines..The role of moderator is always going to make someone angry, it's just the nature of the beast. Rest assured, we all do the best we can without malicious intent.. I visit a lot of forums everyday and this is by far the least moderated forum of them all..

If you have an issue with a moderator, I suggest you PM them and try work it out..Posting stuff like this is not productive and only leads to arguments. If you still feel like there is an issue, you know the webmasters Email address :)

I closed the thread because it would never end. Just as I said we could have gone back and forth forever; it had nothing to do with the thread nor was it useful. Many people feel it's their right to get on their soapbox in a public thread and spark an arguement for the purposes of riling everyone up, yet when it comes to communicating privately it's no longer important. If I am such a bad moderator where are all the PMs telling me otherwise? If some of you feel I could handle a situation different then PM me and tell me this.

The moderators of these forums are users also. We are allowed to have an opinion just as you are. We each have our own standards; I like a clear message that can be read and requires no analyzing. Other forums may allow the same questions to be asked time and time again but any as large as this forum or larger do not.

Regarding the Animal Control moniker: am I suggesting everyone is an animal on here? NO! I'm not, it is meant in humor. Some of you have found it funny and evidently it irritates others. Because it's such a big deal, and the humor can't be seen by the majority, I'll remove it.
