Good catch on the practice times. I will be down at the lakeshore tomorrow to observe. I am wondering if the F16's that will be doing fly by's will be landing at YYZ, or just coming up from new york state, doing a few passes and going back home.

There are no more fighter jets based in NY state. The last ones left in 2010 from Syracuse,NY. They were a fighter base since the 1940's. They now fly the boring Reaper drone. Not much left here in NY to hear.

if i tune into the toronto center/timmins feed on radio reference will i be able to hear the airshow pilots communicate with the tower

I posted all the frequencies i'm aware of here:
http://forums.radioreference.com/on...nting-cias-aircraft-lineup-2.html#post1811799

The show coordinator is called "air boss" on 119.2 but many other frequencies are used by different aircraft to talk to each other in formation (like the snowbirds) and stunt pilots on the PA system at the CNE. All of the frequencies i've seen used over the years on on that previous posting's list.

........sheeeze...........even the atc said "Not an impressive roster this year". I went to my usual spot by rwy 23. OILER 88 took off about 12:45. The Hornet took off at 1pm, and didn't come back untill about 3:20 and barely did a flyby. Drove by North Lounge and only saw the Pathfinder ? and the Mako there. Not a single person was taking pics by their fence, last year there were dozens of people. The Cleveland air show is also on this weekend. Guess who was there ! Acts :: Cleveland National Air Show Is it possible they did the simulated air to air refueling at both shows ? Could that explain the time it took for Hornet 1 to return ? hmmm

Any VIP ticket holders here, or know someone ? Still worth paying ? No wonder the tickets were deeply discounted !

I think Insider Jenny's inbox is gonna fill up real quick.....

Thats exactly what they did...I followed the hornet and the C130 all the way to Cleveland Centre at 348.6.....Plane Comms only of course.....I am up pretty high in an apartment and watched them skirt the lakeshore going west until they were out of site. Here is the kicker....they did simulated refueling for the show, and did an actual refueling on route!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard toronto centre talking to them and they advised them they are a 2 ship formation doing refueling over the lake.

When Mako took off, they turned him to a heading of 180...Which happened to be directly pointed at my apartment...dixie/bloor area ....he held there doing circles for about 5 mins until he was on stage.....they held him at 2000 Ft so I got a mini show myself..........I love having the airnav radarbox I tell ya... It gives you such an amazing reference to where planes are to your exact location, since you need to input to co-ordinates when you setup the program..(using google earth).

Cheers,

Jason

So no F-16's today?

Does anyone know if they will be flying Sunday or Monday at this point?

Interesting the Hornet returns..............................I guess he is going to do his cleveland show and on the way back he will do a bit more for the crowd.. Obviously the complaints about no jets are starting to mount up for poor Insider Jenny!

Funny, I did not get the e-mail this morning about the sunday lineup....Maybe the CIAS put me on their blacklist..

LOL

can anyone recomend a good spot to sit picnic and watch the show. yes iam iam being cheap this year lol

Park near jameson somewhere and walk south across the bridge then walk east along the lake. Plenty of grass and you're right at show center.

Sitting at the water front right now getting ready for the show.

So I realize the f-16's aren't on the schedule but I read on a Toronto news site that they did attend yesterday. Can anyone confirm? I figured they may not put them on the schedule as they are just "fly by's" and may not be able to give an exact time.

Thanks!
