Again, it would help us to know which TPD you're referring to. Without a location listed in your profile, we don't know if you're talking about Tampa, Toledo, Tomball, Tuscon, Tacoma, or Tulsa just to name a few. What's more, you might have better luck with posting questions about specific cities or areas in the appropriate State forum.

For Tulsa Police, they are one and the same. The offical name is Special Operations Team. Usually only when you hear the term SWAT it is by some of the media that does not know the offical name.
