I posted an item in the RadioReference classifieds recently. I got an email from a "Bruce Climax" that used the same vernacular and a similar process as the prior scammer "Jerry Teague" that had sent me a forged cashiers check for dramatically more than the asking price. (See SCAM ALERT Jerry Teague, Earl Decker
I asked them to contact me via the RR Private Message system, haven't heard back. He wants to send a cashiers check for the purchase, shipping and insurance etc. I suspect that if I agreed and the "check" was sent it too would be for much more than the amount and I would be requested to send the excess back in cash or gift cards, a classic scam.
The spelling and grammar errors are also red flags.
The upshot is to be careful when selling, no matter the platform. When selling here it is less likely to be scammed if the messaging system ("Conversations") within the RadioReference forum is used rather than email.
