Anybody have a suggestion for a reasonably priced mobile antenna for my 396?
Thank you

I've been very happy with the Larsen NMO150450800 tri-band antenna--it looks like a cellular antenna and uses the standard Motorola mount--especially important if you want to punch a hole in the car (or one already exists) so you can upgrade to a different antenna as the need may arise.

See http://www.aesham.com or http://www.hamradio.com for easy ordering. You'll also need the mount/coax/connector package. See http://www.radialllarsen.com/ for the manufacturer information.

The NMO mount is very standard for the mobile communications industry and can be hole, trunk lip, mirror, and magnetically mounted.

I'll second bc780l on the Larsen NMO antenna. I've had a couple of them for three or four years now and I love them. Fairly low profile (half of the RS scanner antenna), a nearly univesal mount (the NMO).

I have two on my car using trunk lip mounts and one on the SUV using a mag mount.
