Can anyone recommend a good BNC rooftop antenna for 800mhz scanner. Also looking for a roof mount for a vehicle for same scanner.

Do you mean a permanent NMO mount, or a mag-mount antenna that comes pre-assembled with coax and a BNC connector at the end?

I can't speak very highly of mag-mount antennas due to performance and aesthetic reasons, but I use an Antenex Phantom Elite (part# ETRAB8063) which is tuned for 806-866 MHz. It is an NMO antenna that requires you to drill a hole. I never looked back. It's an awesome antenna for 800 MHz trunked systems and it's really low-profile. Most of the systems around here are 800 MHz now, with only a few VHF/UHF holdouts. The antenna even works relatively well on UHF.
