It has 4 electrical wires of different lengths. There are other antennas like that with different names that promise a lot. This Super Scanner Two XC seems to be a model called Super Scanner 250. Any metal in the air, and outdoors high up, will work better than any antenna at the back of the scanner.

Scanner users should understand that the VHF/UHF radio signals transmitted by police, fire, govt., public service agencies, and ham repeaters are mostly line of sight signals. Scanner listeners in mountainous areas may have serious problems this factor.

I have no personal experience with the antenna, but I have read good reviews on it

I have a OmniX up in my attic. I don't have a lot of 800mhz out here, mostly VHF Hi (148-174mhz) and it performs well on both bands. If you are looking to monitor what's left of VHF Lo, best to look elsewhere as it is somewhat deaf.
