Finally moving into the (early) 21st Century, got a used BC796 coming. Is there any P25 (non-encrypted) being used in the OKC area that I can tune into to test this radio's digital operation? Something that is used a regular basis, I don't have the time to sit and wait for that once a day or week transmission.

Thanks,
Mark S.

Mark,

Check the Tinker AFB section of the database. There is a veritable plethora of constant P25 activity between 406 and 410 MHz.

What? Ya gotta be somewhere? :)

406.1625 and 407.1625 are both busy. These *may* be part of a TRS, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, my boss gets picky about giving me money if I don't show up at the job.

Thanks to all for the tips, I'll check them out when the radio comes in.

There is actually a P25 ham repeater operational in the OKC metro now, operates both analog and digital. You might try the OKC federal prison, its closer to Stillwater than El Reno is.
