Anyone following alamance/BPD?

trying to see if it would be worth getting an sds100 to listen to BPD. Last i checked their stuff was encrypted though? so im not sure if its even worth it.
Any expierence?

Burlington Police and Fire, and possibly Graham are carried on the Guilford Metro System ( Greensboro / Guilford County Trunking System, Greensboro, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies ). As far as I know both services are still "in the clear". The reminder of Alamance (SHP, Sheriff, EMS) is carried on the NC VIPER network.

Burlington is currently in the clear with the ability to operate encrypted, Graham is still on VIPER but plans to move to the Guilford system at some point in the next year.

I'm not in that area, but I think the main issue and deciding factor if @G3NIU5 needs the SDS100 is are those systems simulcast in that area? Maybe someone in the area will mention that.

Indeed I did read over the part of the original post inquiring about the SDS100 use in Burlington. I have both the 100 and SDS200 in Burlington and they work well for my needs.

seems like sds100 is out of stock, will the BCD325P2 do just fine?

The 325 should suit you well. I've helped program a couple in the Burlington area and haven't heard any complaints about reception

Most is in the clear. There are obviously certain specialized groups that are encrypted or use other means to communicate like Zello.
